DesignDataManager 2006.2.0 on Customer Release.

NEWBURY, Berkshire, UK, November 21st, 2006 - Concurrent Systems Inc Ltd, a leading developer of multi-CAD design data and document management solutions, today announces that DDM 2006.2 is now on general release.

Now in its 9th year! and following the successful launch of DDM 2006.1 back in May, Concurrent Systems are pleased to announce the latest release, version 2006.2 of DesignDataManager. This builds on the significant enhancements in 2006.1, by extending the power and configurability of DDM whilst still retaining its intuitive and straight forward user experience.

With the focus this release being streamlined usability and configuration, we have enhanced the main search and retrieve interface to facilitate multi select capability using standard windows CTRL and SHFT. This then provides users the ability to carry out functions on multiple items at a time including, reserving, un-reserving, up-issuing, releasing and subscribing to automatic change notifications.

Continuing this focus we have enhanced the item properties user interface to allow multiple windows to be opened at once. This is useful when comparing different items, or versions of the same item. We have also provided the ability to ‘Drag & Drop’ documents into the links dialog for parts and assemblies in order to easily create important configuration management links and traceability.

Our other focus is to provide a solution that customers can configure themselves and avoid the usual high consulting costs associated with Design Management and PDM systems. Based on this we pleased to announce the CAD Parameter Mapping utility. This new utility enables administrators of DDM to map the bi-directional update of attributes between the supported 3D CAD systems and the DDM database including part properties, drawing frame and change note information.

Via its development partner relationships and toolkit licenses, CSI’s DesignDataManager now supports direct integration with Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, IronCAD, AutoCAD and Onespace Designer Drafting.
