Dear Customer
CSI are pleased to announce the release of DDM Version 2008.1
This new release brings a number of 'beneath the surface'
improvements. Not only have the CAD integrations been updated to
support the latest versions of each CAD application, also these
integrations have been optimised giving some significant performance
improvements.
Read on to find out more about the latest release.
| Silent Client Upgrade |
In striving to minimise work for DDM Administrators, the
DDM client install is now performed without user intervention
using the existing client install settings.
When a client tries to login to DDM after a DDM Server has
been upgraded, the user will be informed that the DDM Client
install needs upgrading. Once the user has clicked OK, the DDM
client installation will be upgraded without any further
intervention.
|
| DDM Option Settings Stored Against User
Accounts |
Until now, changes made in the tools-options dialogue of
DDM were stored on the user's workstation. This resulted in
different configuration options if the user logged into DDM on
a different workstation. These options are now stored with the
user account, creating a roving profile.
Default double-click action;
The default action of double-clicking an object in DDM can
now be modified in the tools-options dialogue. This action can
be modified for DDM Professional and DDM Office independently.
This allows users to select the load action on double click
matching expected behaviour from Windows Explorer.
|
| Multi-level BOM Editing |
The BOM editor can be configured to show a multi-level BOM.
When opening the BOM editor for a higher level assembly select
'Edit' and 'Enable Multi-level'. The BOM will now allow the
user to expand and edit (assuming access control rules are
met) the lower level assemblies, from the top level BOM.
|
| AnyDocs - Document Management |
DDM Version 2008.1 includes an improved document management
utility called 'AnyDocs'.
This replaces the old 'appload' utility, giving improved
visibility, control and monitoring of documents. DDM 2008.1
now supports Microsoft Outlook email drag and drop and
language localisation.
|
| Crystal Reports 2008 |
DDM reports have been available for a number of years. It
is possible to customise the built in reports to include
company logos and user specific fields. The new release
includes support for Crystal Reports version 2008 bringing the
reporting functionality right up to date.
If you would like to customise your own reports, then
Crystal Reports 2008 is commercially available. Alternatively
a 30 day trial version can be downloaded from the Internet.
Crystal Reports and report customisation are not covered by
DDM support contracts.
